Do you shine or illuminate?
We all aim to shine (figuratively) at work, but perhaps we shouldn't just aim to shine; what about aiming to illuminate!
This paraphrase from one of Thomas Aquinas' famous quotes applied to the world of work throws some interesting light (no pun intended) on what it is to thrive at work, to feel fulfilled, enthusiastic and motivated to do well.
One thing's for sure; it isn't about how the ubiquitous "they" treat you, it's about how you treat them!
So, ask yourself a question. What would I have to do at work in order to illuminate rather than just to shine?
